Cathy Caterpillar is ready to pupate; the irony of gardening is the need for butterflies to pollinate flowers. So spare a thought for Cathy!
I mig-welded two car suspension springs together and shaped the body of the caterpillar using heat from an oxy torch. Two soup spoons form the eyes and feelers with elevator chain links creating the legs. Along the back is draped mattress mesh to enhance the shape. The finish is Penetrol rust inhibitor. Cathy will readily sit on tree limb to display.
