Calling this emu a “road runner” doesn’t do it justice. Emus are an iconic flightless bird of Australia, second in size only to the ostrich. An emu graces Australia’s emblem.
This emu was the first piece I ever made! The body is series of trolley wheels and the neck and legs are piping. The tail is minimal depicting fluffy feathers and the head is basically a cultivator tine with cooking cup moulds for eyes and a spring crown. In its mouth is a morsel of food!!! Anyone’s guess as to what. The feet are machinery pieces and spanners; bold because emus have very strong toes. To stabilize the emu I’ve anchored the feet to a paving slab. Emu’s are curious creatures that can be enticed to come close towards a futtering rag.
Check out these other emus I’ve made.
