Bird photographer friends love wrens and this inspired me after seeing their gallery to create a jaunty wren.
This piece is for displaying inside and what’s best is that it looks good from any angle. Like all my work it is interpretive but captures the tilt of the tail and the grasp on the branch. The leaves are spoons cut in half and flattened. The flower is half an egg whisk with teaspoon handle bits as the calyx. The branch is part of an industrial fan cowling seated in a block of local wood left “rough” on top.
